Zion National Park!
Today we went to Zion. Entering from the west side it was totally different than any other park we have gone to or seen. The rock formations and patterns were really cool looking. It was just awesome there. As you start to decline into the canyon you go through a tunnel that is 1.1 miles long, then it opens up to high cliffs, then you start to descend down. The views were fantastic. When you get to the bottom you park and a shuttle takes you to the different points of interest and trailheads. There are about 15 shuttle buses that run continuously in the park so there isn't much of a wait from one point to the next. You could hike all day for days doing different trails. I did the emerald pool hike and the narrows, but the narrows I did not go all the way, Valarie was waiting for me. I did do about 1 1/2 hours in and then back. You have to cross the river in several spots, about 8 or more, some of them being almost neck high. And of course I wasn't prepared for that, so I had to carry my cell phone, camera and wallet in my hand as I crossed. At one point I fell in all the way, but held my hand high so I didn't lose my electronics or ruin anything in my wallet. That was really fun, but the water was very cold. In the park itself today it was 91 degree's, but in the narrows it was much cooler and around 5:15 when I went in the water, I was shaking all the way back to where the car was. We then drove to Cedar City to spend two day's at the KOA there. It is a beautiful campground, and the bath and showers are all tiled and very nice looking, so far the only one close to Carlsbad KOA. Well, I won't bore you any more, I'm going to go night night, thanks for reading, and please come back again!
