Pike's Peak or Bust!

Today we got up and left our motel around 8:30. We drove to Manitou Springs, Colorado and road the Cog train to the summit of Pike's Peak. It took about 1 1/2 hours each way and you got off at the top for about 40 minutes or so. You can see four states from the summit on a clear day. It was about 79 degrees when we left at the bottom. When we reached the top the reported temperature was 32 degrees, 28 with the wind chill.
After we left there we drove to Kansas to see the Monument Rocks. We had to drive down about 7 miles of dirt road to get there. And when we left, of course we had to go a different way because we were heading East, so we drove about 30 miles on back roads that looked like long farm driveways. We even met up with some locals (I posted some pics below).
We are now in a motel in Wakeeny, Kansas making our way home little by little. Well, again, thanks for reading and have a good night, Mike!
