We had a great time today. We drove up to Mt. St. Helen's. We did not get a good look at it, it was very overcast when we got to the site. But the views were worth it. We drove up to one point, it was semi clear out, we drove about 1/2 mile up and we ran into heavy snow. At that point
there was about two feet of snow on the ground. We drove a little further, and presto, there was no snow on the ground. Got down to the bottom near the observatory and it was very overcast, but the lake was nice. The road to the observatory was closed because of snow. We then went back up and as we came down the sun was out and everything looked like a bright spring day, it was like all four seasons in about a six mile drive.
We then drove to Seattle, got a motel and then went to the Space Needle and went to the top to view the city. Wonderful views. We were going to go to Mt. Rainier, but were told all the roads up and around there were closed because of snow so we skipped that. Over all we had a great day!
Thanks everyone for reading, have a great night!
Beautiful Mike and Val. You sure have seen a lot! Love, Your Sis
ReplyDeleteHey, too funny, reading your comment about Mt. Rainier made me realize that that was where I went to not Mt. St. Helene,s, too funny, see they lived in Washington when Helene's volcano threw ash all over where they lived so I was just associating it with them. And what is weird to is that there is so much snow when it hardly snows there at all in Washington. Go figure! We road the ferry across Puget Sound from Olalla, are you going to get to ride the ferry? It was really nice hope you get to do it while your there. We went to the redwood forest also have you been there yet? Have fun.
ReplyDeleteHey Deb, no we didn't ride the ferry. We went through Sequoia and the Redwoods in California, so we did do the redwood thing. It was really nice.
