Well, we made it to New Mexico. We decided to get off the Interstate after leaving Weatherford KOA. We got on, I believe 185 to get to Carlsbad KOA, where we are now. The drive seemed very long, and was rather uninteresting. The Hill country part of Texas was nice, I enjoyed the scenery there. Then it became the farmers nightmare, by that I mean fields and fields and fields as far as the eye could see for miles and miles. We then crossed into New Mexico at Hobbs. As soon as we got out of town, everything became oil drilling fields for miles and miles and miles. We finally arrived at the KOA here in Carlsbad, and after looking at all the dirty looking pumping fields and trash on both sides of the roads we were skeptical of the KOA. Let me tell you we were shocked, the place is beautiful, very well kept and clean , it was a welcomed site. Very happy with this one! And the staff was very friendly also. Two of the workers Edith and Jim, husband and wife were from East Tennessee, just like us! Here are some pics of the KOA in Carlsbad. If you pass through here, it is a must stay!
